I was considering getting my hair cut shorter and blunt a la Lily Melrose, however I proceeded to decide against it because I am a wimp. Weirdly the result of a 'little trim' happened to inadvertently give me this look regardless. I kind of like it though, but it is only half way towards what I would have went for had it been intentional. So I am thinking next time, even shorter and blunter? So sick of long hair now, I have been growing it since the infamous bob of '09.

Short and sweet because I have 62 hours of work this week, lucky me!

LFW SS15 Street Style

This combines all my loves; blunt hair cut, short hemline with boots and lilac. By far my fave.
I love short hemlines and statement shoes, this plus the addition of plaited, bleached hair and bold lips is so ideal - I want to be this girl!
I love this look, the straight leg, semi cullotte style jeans (which are possibly from Topshop - I think I have tried them on) are so modern. I love how she has mixed a baggy(ish) outfit with sleek hair and shoes.

I have seen so many fashion week attendees with similar oversized tote bags, I might have to purchase the one I saw in Primark the other day - they seem like the most practical accessory ever.
Love love love all of this, the sheer, the white and the detailed accessories make for such a good combo.
I love that this blogger has mixed silver brogues with a neon jumper, so eye-catching.
This is here for the boots. I am obsessed with pointed boots and especially silver ones.
Neon tailoring is so bold and eye-catching, it somehow combines serious and fun vibes in the most perfect way.

Following New York Fashion Week, London has predictably gone the extra mile in the bold stakes. We are still seeing a lot of metalics and trainers but London has injected chunky shoes, oversized clothing and ripped denim into the mix, resulting in a charmingly  unpolished edge.

OOTD: All Black (and a bit of white)

Blazer - Primark
Jeans - Asos
Boots - Asos
Top - Primark
Choker - Topshop
Ring - Camden market
Watch - Timex
Lipstick - Mac Rebel

Need to start getting better photos, do not know what has happened to the camera it has gone all grainy.

Anyway, I have a new choker necklace, boots and jeans so typically thought I would wear them all at once. I have bought so much from Asos lately that the DPD driver told my mum his van drives to our house on its own, hahaha let's all laugh at my shopping addiction. Luckily for my bank account I do actually return a lot of it.

OOTD: Work & Pub

Jumper - New Look, boots - New Look (Similar here), tights - Primark (15 denier), bag - Topshop (similar here), skirt - Topshop, rings - Dixi & H&M

So glad I stumbled upon this Sweater in New Look. There was a similar one in Topshop for about double the price that I have wanted for aages but simply couldn't bring myself to buy, but this one is so similar and has the addition of a high neck which I love, and it was a bargain at £17.99, happyyy.

So yeah this is what I wore for work/will wear for the pub as I think it is a pretty versatile ensemble. It is also weather appropriate, the past couple of days have been soo much colder which is really upsetting for me because I am one of those people who is always cold. I have just about retained an appropriate temperature throughout summer.

If you're a cold person too, this Buzzfeed article might make you feel less alone, it did for me. If you don't know what it is like to be a cold person and always think omg stop being so dramatic when people complain, I also recommend reading this to help you empathise in future. Get cracking.

OOTD: 60's vibes

Dress: Topshop
Necklace: Dixi
Bag: Asos
Shoes: Primark
Sunglasses: H&M (old, similar here)
Rings: H&M

This is what I wore for a family christening, I bought this dress for my graduation but I really like the 60's vibe of it so thought it would be acceptable to re-wear it. I revamped it with some different accessories, I think the modern accessories and splash of colour (necklace, pink hair ends & pink lipstick, which is barely visible here) give it a completely different look.

I am still toying with the idea of dramatic hair colours, for now I have used pink hair chalk from Topshop (also available from basically anywhere including Ebay & Amazon). I have included a rather blurry back shot photo because you can kind of see the pink in it. As I say, hair chalk is not ideal...

p.s. I have toothpaste on my shoulder lolz (unintentional, didn't realise til after the christening)

New York Fashion Week SS15 Streetstyle

I love streetstyle, I think what the attendees wear pretty much generates a similar level of hype and excitement as the shows themselves these days.
Streetstyle is where a lot of people get inspiration from, even the designers themselves. So I have dedicated this post to my favourite streetstyle looks from NYFW SS15!

As I have come to realise when scouring the web for the best outfits out there, New York Fashion Week style is decidedly slicker than London Fashion week style. Tailoring, stiletto's and cocktail dresses embellish the toned bodies of NY fashionites, whereas London tends to be more of a burst of unique, bizarre and fascinating garments seemingly thrown together (but always in ways that somehow work and make one view the wearer as some sort of sartorial genius).

So it seems that oversized clothing, cocoon shapes, chunky ('ugly') footwear, embellishment and fringing are the port of call for current street style icons.

Beauty-wise I am loving bleached hair and of course plaits.

I will without doubt be pinning some of my favourite looks from all fashion weeks!

Liebster Award

I got nominated for the Liebster award by Sophie-Lauren and Ellie-Rose a few weeks ago, I have done one before but I thought I might as well do it again as it is kind of fun anyway!
The idea is to answer the questions your nominator gives you, then nominate some people yourself and give them your own set of questions, so here goes!

- Why do you love blogging so much?
As cheesy as this sounds, I love sharing inspiration. I am addicted to browsing other peoples blogs, outfit posts and Instagram's and I enjoy the whole styling and writing processes.

- What is your favourite type of food?
Hmm definitely going to have to go with cereal, it is certainly what I eat the most of! Whether it is Shreddies, porridge, Fruit 'n Fibre, Granola... You get the point, I am a cereal addict. Most of the time I can't decide between all these varieties so shove a bit of each in my bowl - crazy!

- What has been your favourite clothing this summer that you seem to be always wearing?
Probably my silk jacket thing from the vintage shop Deep, or my New Look Co-Ord which I thought was an absolute bargain. If this includes shoes then 100% my Mules from Primark. Best. Bargain. Ever.

- Do you have any piercings? If so what ones do you have?
Only my ear lobes unfortunately. I did get the rim of my ear pierced in the centre really randomly but it didn't heal for about 4 months so one day I cracked and took it out. I do want to try again though.

- Who inspired you to start blogging?
Some of my favourite bloggers, such as Lily Melrose. But mainly just my weird will to write things on places, including the internet.
- What would be your dream job?
Something with a bit of creativity involved, whether that be writing, styling... Or something that has a bit of variety and exciting opportunities. I always wanted to work on a magazine, my childhood plan was to be the editor of Vogue. Totally reasonable aim.

- If you could marry any celebrity who would it be?
Dear me, I am really bad with this stuff, the only celebrities I have had a crush on are Rob Pattinson and Orlando Bloom, neither of which I think are that great now. Maybe Orlando though because he seems like a genuinely nice guy, and I'd love to quiz him about Miranda Kerr.

- What is your favourite feature?
Erm I assume this means of my face... When people get asked this in interviews I always think how hard it would be to answer. Perhaps my eyes because they aren't massive but they could be smaller, and in my pea head they do look kind of big sometimes.

- What film would you just weep and weep at?
The Fault in Our Stars - watched this a couple of days ago and cried more than I have at anything else on a screen. Or in a book in fact. I actually think I cried more than when Dumbledore died.

- If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you'd buy?
Was always going to be a Chanel 2.55 but maybe I have got a bit bored of this idea now... What else could I get... I would probably just go mental in Topshop or somewhere to be honest, high street would still be my addiction.
I am nominating...
Ooh and my cousin Sian who has just started blogging about her year abroad in Aus!
You have to answer...
-Where do you want to be in 5 years time?
-What item would you save from a burning house?
-Where is your favourite place?
-What is your favourite website?
-What is your favourite food?
-What is your favourite beauty product?
-If you got a tattoo (or another tattoo if you have one) what would you get and where?
- Favourite brand/designer?
- Who is your style icon?
- Where would you go on your honeymoon?

September Wish List

boots: Zara, Jumper: H&M, padded jacket: H&M (£19.99!), shearling jacket: Missguided, pointed shoes: Asos, dress: Asos

I am a little bit obsessed with pointed shoes, especially of the boot variety. These Zara ones are perhaps my favourite, but Asos have just put loads on their website too at a slightly lower price range so I am struggling to pick a pair to invest in! Obviously I need to invest in some one way or another, it's September...

Second obsession is shearling, after interning at Jules B and witnessing a stunning £2,000 Helmut Lang beauty (this) I need a more purse friendly version.

OOTD: Afternoon Tea

Jeans: Asos
Top: Missguided
Belt: New Look (old)
Jacket: Deep
Rings: Dixi & H&M
Necklaces: Dixi
Hat: Topshop

In an embarrassingly recent post, I stated that I was sick of jeans and needed to invest in more trousers instead. On Thursday I ordered these.

The Asos Ridley jeans proved too tempting for my weak self. I openly admit that I just can't help myself, I love jeans, and I love clothes with an edgy vibe so resisting these black ripped beautys was an impossibility, even if I do have white versions...

I am slightly obsessed with this silk jacket too, I love how it looks thrown on over a simple outfit, it has such a unique shape and colour combo.

OOTD: Monochrome Stripes

Top: H&M (old)
Jeans: Topshop
Shoes: Primark
Jewellery: Dixi and H&M
Duster jacket: Monki via Asos

I finally got my hands on these primark slip ons. I mentioned them in this haul post. They were the one thing I didn't buy from  Primark that day! However I did come to regret it severely, I thought they might be sold out in size 5 when I returned but thankfully not!

I think I wear stripes about 75% of the time, I have a breton top in every form imaginable. This H&M version is my favourite but I got it bloody years ago and you can see it is worn. I'm sure they'll do similar ones, I really need to invest.

I am really feeling a makeover coming on, I am so sick of my current hair/clothes etc. Now that I have left uni I feel like I need a change, I have spent 5 years growing my hair this long though so cutting it may well break my heart. I have considered dying it crazy colours (I have pinned so many Bleach London dyes) and I have also considered piercings. I got the top of my ear done (forgot the technical terms, soz) last year and my stupid ear rejected it, but I am so tempted to try again and get second lobes done and the same time...

Might be having a quarter life crisis so perhaps I should sleep on these things for a week or so, but do you know when you just want something immediately? That is happening.

OOTD: Internship or work outfit

Shirt: H&M
Jeans: Topshop (Leigh)
Mules: Primark
Necklace: Topshop (old)

I didn't actually wear this for work but it is totally the type of thing I would wear for such an occasion.I bought the shirt  before an interview intending to wear it with skinny leather trousers since I love the oversized look (inspired by the Olsens obv), and although I didn't I would definitely wear it in future for work/internship type situations.

I also think it is pretty versatile, I am not one for sticking to rules when it comes to clothing; I'd wear this for a casual day shopping whilst I'd wear trainers to work. So rebellious, I know.

I really want a nice choker necklace, and I thought Ebay would be my savior (they are £7-£15 in Topshop, which I think is a bit steep) admittedly there is a lot of choice for under £2, yet it turns out my neck is too small. Fml. I have this issue with rings, hats and watches also, if you are thinking of opening an accessories store for miniature people please do it, this issue drives me insane.
