AW19 Top Trends

It's my favourite type of blog time! I bloody love trend posts, partly because a new season means fresh new styles, wardrobe revamps, new starts, new clothes, excuses to purchase and I like making these posts because the research is fun to me and it helps me actually decide what I want for the season (ironically these types of posts get the least views but idc, here for myself n my own fun) so here goes!

*also* I have been trying to be more conscious about the amount of clothing I'm buying, I really don't like the idea of waste anymore, in any form, time, clothes, money etc etc, minimal living for the win. BUT I now therefore take each new season as a serious, and seriously exciting, time to allow myself to splash out on clothes without the guilt. I still like a bargain though, so these will all be affordable, wearable purchases... Every item here is around £100 or less.

Neutrals

It was a trend in summer (mentioned it in my SS19 trend report in March) and it's definitely here to stay which I'm thrilled about, as I'm only just getting into it (it's taking me a while to let go of all black everything).

Think browns, beiges etc etc. Best worn head-to-toe like on the catwalks but if you're not mentally ready for that (I'm not) go for a beige longline coat with jeans and a beige jumper (I actually hate the word beige lol, sounds so... beige) or beige trousers with a white shirt/top... you know, fit it in where you can. I'm also loving it in the form of brown outerwear...

Posher puffer

So pleased the puffer is here to stay because I'm always freezing! This season it's being worn in a dressy (well, dressier) way, with either a 'posher puffer' a la Asai (below) or dressier styling, i.e. worn with heels.

Floral

Darker winter florals are pretty standard in Autumn/Winter fashion. This season I'm loving them most in this long leather look coat and maxi dress combo.

Pointed toes

Always so flattering and statement... They're big in the form of 'Mary-Jane' style heels like these Dolce & Gabbana examples, boots, kitten heels and mules.

Mini dresses

Perfect for party season! As a petite person, I love a mini dress as they're so flattering and leg-lengthening...

Argyle & checks

I appreciate the check and while I'm less sold on the Argyle usually, I really like the picks below, can definitely deal with a pastel Argyle print – so statement!

Suits

Of all kinds, brightly coloured, checked, leather... They've been on-trend for many seasons and aren't going anywhere. For winter I'm personally leaning towards corduroy, leather, brown and checks.

Leather trousers & coats

I've had the same pair of faux leather trousers for years from H&M and love them with heels and a shirt for work or a t-shirt and trainers for a more casual look – this one's a timeless classic for me. I've also just bought a brown leather jacket, haven't styled it yet and I'm feeling a bit nervous about it (never worn anything like it) so keep an eye on my Insta for that!
